East Hampton Wish Kid Surprised at Dunkin Donuts Park

Grace Jensen's wish to go to her favorite theme park was revealed at Saturday's Yard Goat's game

Five-year-old Grace has an intestinal disorder and wants nothing more than to go to her favorite Florida theme park to meet Mickey and Minnie mouse and her favorite princesses Sophia, Ariel and Rapunzel. While Grace loves to blow bubbles, build forts and play with Barbie dolls, just the thought of going to Mickey’s house and meeting princesses “excites me and makes me happy and smile,” she exclaims.

Her wish journey swung for the fences on Saturday, August 10th at the Yard Goat’s game, when she was surprised on the field pre-game by Make-A-Wish Connecticut and Wishes On Wheels. A real-life princess delivered a big, pink box which contained all the accessories necessary to be the princess Grace imagines herself being, including a pink princess dress, tiara and magic wand.

After her wish was revealed, Grace – donned in her new princess garb – lobbed the first pitch of the game, supported by cheers from the fans in the sold-out stadium.

Make-A-Wish® Connecticut creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We seek to bring every eligible child's wish to life because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and volunteers across the state currently grant nearly 250 wishes a year. Since 1986, Make-A-Wish Connecticut has granted more than 3,000 wishes to local children. For more information about Make-A-Wish Connecticut, visit ct.wish.org.
