The Friends of the Portland Library will hold their Fall Book Sale on Saturday, October 26 (10 am to 4 pm) and Sunday, October 27 (10 am to Noon). There will be a special preview sale for FPL members on Friday, October 25 from 6 to 8 pm.
Anyone interested in become a member can join at the door. Members will receive an FPL tote bag.
The sale will offer thousands of bargain-priced books, CDs, DVDs, videos, cassettes, puzzles and games. Adult hardcover books and trade paperbacks are $1.00; all other paperbacks are $.50; puzzles, games, videos and cassettes are $1.00; all children's items (except DVDs) are $.50; DVDs are $3.00 each.
On Sunday, there will be a special clearance sale at $3 per bag. Members who bring their reusable bag will receive a discounted price of $2 per bag.
Thanks to a generous donation, the sale will include hundreds of Fantasy paperbacks. We expect these books to sell quickly, so come early!
Volunteers are needed to assist in set up, sale and clean up starting on Thursday afternoon (October 24). Credit for community service hours will be provided. Contact the Portland Library at 342-6770 to volunteer.
All proceeds benefit programs funded by the Friends, including the Library's DVD collection, Museum Pass Program and a wide variety of children's, family and adult programs held throughout the year.
