It's Lyman Orchards Winterfest Time Again

Lyman Orchards is hosting its 40th Annual Winterfest on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 25 and 26.

The popular annual event will feature Ice Wars, three ice carving competitions over two days, free food sampling at the Apple Barrel market, horse-drawn wagon rides, dog sled mushing demonstrations and rides, pony rides and other fun seasonal activities. 

As always, there will be a wide selection of food available at the Apple Barrel Outdoor Grill and Eatery.

The Winterfest activities schedule is:

Sat., Feb. 25, Ice Wars, Compulsory Ice Carving, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sun., Feb. 26, Freestyle Ice Carving, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Speed Challenge, 2:30-3:30 p.m., Awards Ceremony 4 p.m.       

Event activities, Saturday and Sunday will include:

Apple Barrel Breakfast, 9-11 a.m., food sampling in the Apple Barrel, 10 a.m-5 p.m., Connecticut Valley Siberian Husky Club, 10 a.m-3p.m., Orchard Fruit Tree Pruning Demonstration, 10 a.m.-noon; horse drawn wagon rides and pony rides, 11 a.m-3 p.m.; family snow tubing (weather permitting), 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; outdoor grill and concessions, 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
