On Thursday, May 2nd East Hampton
will observe the National Day of Prayer. A prayer service will be held at 12:00
noon at the Gazebo on the lawn of Center School,(Summit Street )in the Village
Center, East Hampton. The theme for the 62nd National Day of Prayer
is “Pray for America” and is based
on the Book of Matthew 12:21, “In His Name the nations will put their hope.” It
is an opportunity for people in communities across the nation to gather to lift
up before the Lord our needs and concerns for America. Pastor Greg Laurie, the
2013 Honorary Chairman, has written a special prayer to be simultaneously read
throughout the nation at noon (EDT).
This will create a huge wave of prayer from coast to coast illustrating
the unity of God’s people and acknowledging God’s dominion over the
circumstances that we face as a nation.
The service will continue with prayers and Scripture
readings for our Government, Police, Fire and Emergency, our Military Troops,
churches, and families. With recent
events, we are reminded of the need for intercessory prayer for the future of
our nation during these difficult times. Please join us.
