• Firefighter Struck By Vehicle Driving Through Crash Scene In East Hampton: Fire Chief (patch.com) — A firefighter from East Hampton was hospitalized after a driver sped through an active crash scene in town Sunday night, weaving around a fire truck and striking cones before hitting the responder. Officials say the vehicle then fled west on Route 66 toward Portland, and the fire chief is using the incident to stress how crucial it is for drivers to slow down and obey emergency traffic controls.
