Greater New Haven/Shoreline PFLAG will join with Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Society to view and discuss the film “Tomboy” on Friday 21 June instead of our regular meeting. In honor of Gay Pride month, the Social Action Free Friday Film Night will offer "Tomboy" on June 21 at 7pm at SUUS, 297 Boston Post Road, Madison. Free and open to the public. This award winning 2011 French drama is written and directed by Céline Sciamma. The story follows a 10-year-old girl named Laure who, after moving with her family to a new neighborhood, dresses as a boy and introduces herself to her new friends as Mickäel. The film explores themes of ambiguous sexuality. "Tomboy" is French with English subtitles and is appropriate for all ages. A discussion will follow the screening.
