RUSHFORD PARTNERING WITH CONGRESSWOMAN ELIZABETH ESTY TO HOLD PUBLIC FORUM ON MENTAL HEALTH

Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty (D-CT) will be among the panelists presenting at a public forum on mental health sponsored by the Meriden Healthy Youth Coalition and Rushford, a Hartford HealthCare partner, on Monday, July 1, 2013. The forum takes place at Rushford, 883 Paddock Avenue, Meriden from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM. This forum is part of the commitment of Hartford HealthCare affiliates to improve public understanding of mental health issues by holding open discussions on the topic throughout the region. The forums will center on why the mentally ill have been stigmatized, what can be done about stigma, the risk factors for mental illness, navigation of the mental health system and mental health first aid. Other panelists include psychiatrist J. Craig Allen, MD, Chief Medical Officer for Rushford, freelance writer and consumer Regina Cram, and Sheryl Sprague, certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor and Rushford’s Prevention Manager. This event is free and open to the public. For more information or to RSVP to this event, please contact Veronica Parsloe at vparsloe@rushford.org or call 203.630.5392.
