Senior Superheroes for a Day

East Hampton National Honor Society held the annual fundraiser on Friday.

East Hampton High School’s Ferrigno-Bell Chapter of the National Honor Society held its annual Senior Superheroes Day on Oct. 28.

For the day, a number of 12th graders volunteer to dress up as various “superheroes” — the costumes ran the gamut from Superman to bananas — and are then auctioned off to underclassmen. During the day itself, the seniors performed various chores for the winning bidders. All involved observed the high school’s dress and conduct codes while having great fun.

This was the first of the Chapter’s fundraisers for the 2011-12 school year. The Chapter annually holds a number of fundraisers in order to contribute to local and national charities. Among the organizations to which the Chapter has contributed in recent years are the East Hampton Town Library, the Jimmy V Cancer Fund, East Hampton’s Food Bank and Hartford’s Interval House for victims of domestic violence.
