Skateboards for Teens Workshop

Skateboarding fanatics decorate their own decks at this three-hour workshop led by artists, skate legend and wounded Knee Skateboard founder, Jim Murphy (Lenni Lenape). Visitors bring lunch or buy lunch at Pequot Cafe. Blank skate decks and art materials are provided. Teens are encouraged to bring in their own artwork and designs or become inspired by the boards in the exhibit, Ramp It Up: skateboard Culture in Native America. Limited to 30 participants, ages 12-18. $20 per person. Call (800) 411-9671 or email sleazier@pequotmseum.org by July 6 to register.

The Smithsonian Community Grant program, funded by MetLife Foundation, is a proud sponsor of this program.
