
Soprano Janette Lalliere will present an eclectic program in concert on May 19, 4:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Meriden, 328 Paddock Avenue.
Lalliere was the first Meriden native to receive the prestigious Rosa Ponselle Scholarship. She is internationally known for her powerful and versatile roles in opera. The Sunday afternoon concert will feature Argentinian folk songs of spring, art songs based on poetry by Emily Dickinson and other poets, as well as operatic arias and Broadway favorites. The singer is eager to perform here, noting her that her first public performance was in an Evening of Song at the Meriden Public Library.
