State Champs!

The East Hampton baseball team defeated East Catholic 6-2 on Saturday at Muzzy Field iun Bristol to win the Class S State championship.

East Catholic scored two runs in the first inning but the Bellringers, down 2-1, finally ralled to take the lead in the sixth on a two-run single by senior Austin Shumbo. East Hampton added three more runs in the seventh.

Marvin Gorgas picked up the win in relief of Al Iannone, who went 5-plus innings.
