The Daily Five: Local Running Group is Meeting Up This Sunday
Five things that you should know today.

- Looking for a running or marathon training buddy? The Colchester Triathlon Club is holding its weekly group run this Sunday, Jan. 27, at 8 a.m.. Anyone interested in running can meet up at 392 South Main St., (next to Wendy's) in Colchester. The group right now is training for the Colchester half marathon that’s scheduled for Feb. 23.
- The next meeting of the Fun Mom’s of Middlesex County is Friday, Feb. 1 in Middletown. The regional group seeks to “bring together the experiences of new and expecting moms to share ideas, challenges and the realization that all new and expecting moms are not crazy.” Want to join? - The state wants to demolish the former Sunrise Resort in Moodus. It’s fallen into disrepair and the buildings are becoming a hazard.
- Abbeez Frozen Yogurt is making headway on its new store on North Main Street in East Hampton. The floor tiles are in and ready to be installed. The store has a March 1 opening date.
- The American Cancer Society has launched its annual Daffodil Days fundraising campaign. For $10 donors can get a bouquet of ten fresh daffodils. The campaign helps raise funds for cancer research and has expanded in recent years with the sale of other products from the fundraising website.
