Woman Dies in East Hampton Crash
Another person was injured following a two-car collision on Route 66 Tuesday.

A woman has died and a man was injured following a two-car crash in East Hampton Tuesday evening.
At 5:23 p.m., police responded to a report of a collision on Route 66 near the Marlborough town line involving Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Dodge pickup truck, police said. The Jeep was going westbound and the Dodge was traveling eastbound, police said.
The operator of the Jeep, a 63-year-old woman, was flown via a LifeStar helicopter to Hartford Hospital however she has since died from her injuries, according to a police press release.

The operator of the Dodge, a 23-year-old man, was also taken to Hartford Hospital. It’s not clear what his condition is.
Police did not identify either victim.

Roughly one mile of Route 66 was shut down for several hours while East Hampton police investigated.
