Out of the Shadows: The Story of William Lee, Enslaved Valet to President General Washington

Join us for "Out of the Shadows: The Story of William Lee, Enslaved Valet to President General Washington," a one-person play and an America250 Historical Presentation, brought to you by CT Humanities. The play is performed by Andre Keitt. 

Andre has been an arts education specialist and storyteller for nearly thirty years.  He has presented programs at schools, libraries and museums, as well as on radio and television. He holds a BA in English from South Carolina State University.  He currently serves as Journey Writers' Artistic Director.

Founded in 1974, Connecticut Humanities (CTH) is an independent, non-profit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. CTH connects people to the humanities through grants, programs, and collaboration with other organizations. CTH is supported by state and federal matching funds, community foundations, and gifts from private sources.
