East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr's Accuser 'So Upset' Her Name Publicly Released
It was Maturo's office that publicly released the sexual harassment complaint against himself, which a state official said is unprecedented.

Late Thursday, news broke that a long-time Town Hall female employee had filed a sexual harassment complaint with the state against East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr.
In the complaint it alleges, Maturo used sexually explicit language toward the employee, repeatedly grabbed his crotch in front of her, and even exposed himself to her.
How did media organizations learn about all of this? Was this leaked to us by the alleged victim and or her attorney, John L. Williams? No.

Around 5 p.m. Maturo’s top aide, Frank Gentilesco, released the alleged victim’s complaint to the media along with a statement by Maturo blasting the victim and calling all of the allegations completely false and without merit.
Williams told WNPR in an interview that the alleged victim was “horrified when she found out her name was released to the public,” adding that she was “so upset.” Patch has not released the woman’s name because of the nature of the allegations. Several other media outlets have publicly revealed the woman's name.

A state spokesman confirmed that it is very rare for a municipality to release such a report to the media, but it appears Maturo was trying to get ahead of the story, WNPR reports.
Williams has said no criminal charges will be filed against Maturo.
