East Haven Police Arrest 5 in Large Scale Illegal ATV Ride; Seize 5 ATV's
More than 50 people were participating in this illegal ATV ride through East Haven, police said.

On Sunday, the East Haven Police Department arrested five individuals involved in the large scale ATV ride that took place through East Haven and surrounding towns, police said in a release.
At least one group of ATVs was estimated to be in excess of fifty vehicles. At approximately 4 p.m., officers responded to an incident originally reported as a stabbing on North High Street.
Officers located Stephan McKoy (DOB 11-14-1984), who was suffering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries to his leg as a result of a motor vehicle accident while riding an ATV.

The ATV was seized by Police. McKoy was transported to the hospital for treatment. Reports of ATV activity were received by members of the public throughout the afternoon.
At about 7:45 p.m., officers located several individuals who had been part of the large ATV ride.

Officers arrested a 16 year old male, and four adults: Lamel Brooks (DOB 11-9-1988) of Hartford, CT Jose Carrasquillo (DOB 6-10-1986) of South Windsor, CT Julio Fernandez (DOB 7-19-1989) of East Hartford, CT Joel Martinez (DOB 8-21-1993) of Hartford, CT
The East Haven Police Department seized five ATVs related to the arrest of the individuals listed above. One of the ATVs seized was determined to be stolen.
The juvenile was issued a summons for Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, Operating an ATV without Valid Registration, and Operating an ATV on a Public Road.
Brooks was charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, Operating an ATV without Valid Registration, Operating an ATV on a Public Road, and Possession of Less Than ¼ Ounce of Marijuana. C
arrasquillo was charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, Operating an ATV without Valid Registration, and Operating an ATV on a Public Road.
Fernandez was charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, Larceny in the Third Degree, Operating an ATV without Valid Registration, and Operating an ATV on a Public Road. Martinez was charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, Operating an ATV without Valid Registration, and Operating an ATV on a Public Road.
Brooks, Carrasquillo, Fernandez and Martinez all have a criminal court date of October 8, 2014 at GA #23, located at 121 Elm Street, New Haven, CT.
