Kathy Forkin, Assistant Director, Career Preparation Programs at the University of New Haven will discuss all aspects of job success at the Hagaman Memorial Library , 227 Main Street, East Haven on the dates listed below.

As Assistant Director, Career Preparation Programs for the University of New Haven, Kathy provides individual assistance with students and alumni on their resumes, cover letters, job searches and mock interviews. She conducts workshops on resumes, interviewing skills, networking techniques, and workshops for specific degree programs. Kathy promotes the Career Development Center by making presentations to clubs, classes, student residence halls, and other organizations. She also assists in the collection, tabulation, and analysis of outcome information. Kathy supervises and trains graduate assistants and other student staff.

Kathy taught two semester sessions of Freshmen Experience class that met weekly to help freshmen adapt to college life. Kathy was a presenter for NSEE at their conference held at Disney, September 2008 on the UNH Mentor Match program and presented at the Educational Policy Conference on Retention in Chicago, IL, on  the UNH Coaching Program, June 2010.

Kathy's previous employment included being the Office Manager for Cheney & Company, a public relations and marketing firm in New Haven. While there, she supported the president and her staff in all administrative functions, including arranging travel plans, organizing exhibits, and coordinating conference participation and promotional mailings. Kathy also worked for the American Cancer Society in the past, where she was responsible for team registration, documentation, and other related duties for three Relay events.

Kathy has a Bachelor of Arts, History degree from the University of New Haven.
