As part of this crisis response initiative, volunteers from the schools, police and fire departments, and Team Depot, the Home Depot’s associate volunteer force, will come together with the community Aug. 9 to put together 400 “Go-Buckets."

Since each crisis or emergency is unique, the “Go Buckets” will have a variety of materials that can be used in the classroom or travel with the class during an emergency evacuation. “Go Buckets” will be prepared and distributed thanks to the generous donation of The Home Depot Foundation valued over $17,000.

In addition to the items already purchased, EHPS is looking to equip each Go Bucket with a tourniquet and are seeking donations to help offset the costs. If you would like to make a monetary donation to help with the purchase of tourniquets, please make a check out to East Haven Public Schools, 35 Wheelbarrow Lane, East Haven, Connecticut 06513, and in the memo line, write "Go Buckets."

The buckets will be placed in instructional spaces in all East Haven schools across the district.
