State Suspends Bullseye Billiards Liquor License After Fatal Shooting

In the wake of Sunday's double shooting that left one dead, records show that the state has suspended the billiard hall and bar's license.

EAST HAVEN, CT — Just before the 2 a.m. bar closing time in East Haven, shots rang out at Bullseye Billiards and Bar on Main Street Sunday. A Southington man was killed, and another man was seriously injured, when a gunfight erupted inside the packed pool hall, police said.

Patch was on the scene Sunday mid-morning as the state police major crimes unit arrived. Police Capt. Joseph M. Murgo said that a number of firearms were recovered from the bar, scene of the fatal shooting.

Now, the state has pulled the bar's liquor license, held by David Clough, records show.

Murgo told Patch Tuesday that the pool hall and bar's license was suspended "indefinitely."

He said that the owner is slated to meet with police and the liquor commission Friday in Hartford to "discuss a safety agreement to address our safety concerns moving forward."
