Connecticut Boys at Gettysburg Brings History to Life at Nellie McKnight Museum. Step back in time and experience one of the most pivotal moments in American history during Connecticut Boys in the Battle of Gettysburg, a special one-night-only immersive event on Friday, July 31, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Nellie McKnight Museum, 70 Main Street, presented by the Ellington Historical Society in conjunction with the New England Civil War Museum.Visitors will discover the stories of Connecticut soldiers who fought at Gettysburg through interactive displays, living history presentations, and engaging storytelling. The evening will also feature live period music, adding an authentic atmosphere to this unique historical experience.Admission is free, and attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs for outdoor seating. Donations are appreciated and will help support future educational programs offered by the Historical Society. Refreshments will be available. Whether you are a Civil War enthusiast, history buff, or simply looking for an enjoyable summer evening, this memorable event offers a fascinating glimpse into the lives and sacrifices of Connecticut's Gettysburg soldiers.

Racers - start your engines! It's time for one of the silliest, speediest Saturdays of the season!
Join us on Saturday, August 1st from 9am to noon at Market Park, 72 Maple St in Ellington for our annual Zucchini 500 Drag Race, where veggie-fueled dreams hit the fast lane.
The race begins promptly at 10:30am. If your zucchini is ready to roll, be sure to arrive by 10am to register and pass inspection. Racers must be pre-registered, and all zucchini cars must fit our 6.5-inch-wide track. Wheels, decorations, and wild ideas are strongly encouraged!
This all-ages event is a true crowd favorite, so bring your creativity and your loudest cheering voice. Whether you're racing or spectating, there is plenty to enjoy - free live music all morning long, farm fresh produce, baked goods, handmade gifts, and everything else you love from our incredible local vendors. As always, we are proudly doubling SNAP and FMNP benefits at the market booth.
