Connecticut Renters' Rebate Program

The Connecticut Renters' Rebate Program helps eligible older adults and individuals with disabilities offset a portion of their rent and utility costs.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be 65 years of age or older, or 18 or older and receiving Social Security Disability benefits, or a qualifying surviving spouse.
  • Have rented in Connecticut for at least one year before applying.
  • Meet the program's income guidelines.

For the 2026 application period, the income limits are: (Program is based on 2025 income)

  • Single applicants: Up to $46,300
  • Married couples: Up to $56,500

Eligible applicants may receive a rebate based on their income, rent paid, and qualifying utility expenses from the previous calendar year. Applications are accepted through September 30. Contact your local Human Services office for more information or assistance with applying. 860-870-3128
