Somers Student Charged for Threatening Message: Update
A threatening message on Instagram was made at schools in Somers and Ellington. Police were on scene Tuesday.
SOMERS, CT - Update 1:42 p.m.: State police said that a "juvenile female" has been charged with breach of peace in connection with a threatening message sent to schools this morning.
"One juvenile female was arrested for Breach of Peace. Troopers continue to investigate, nothing further at this time," read the message from state police spokeswoman Troop First Class Kelly Grant.
The names of juveniles arrested are exempt from disclosure under freedom of information law.

Update 10:45 a.m.: A Somers High School student has been apprehended in connection to the threatening Instagram message, according to Superintendent Maynard Suffredini Jr.
"As a result, both the Connecticut State Police and the Somers Public Schools will follow up with appropriate disciplinary action," he said.

The threat was determined to not be credible.
Original story: Authorities are investigating what they are considering a "not-so-credible threats" at schools in Somers and Ellington.
"Troopers are on scene in Somers and Ellington right now investigating the origin of the threat," state police spokesman Tyler Weerden said at 10 a.m.
He said "lockdowns/evacuations will be done at the discretion of the schools," he said.
Ellington school officials sent a letter out indicating both high school were involved in the minor threat.
