Making Your House More Green is Easy to Do
Composting and green cleaning are two ways.

Trying to make your house as green and sustainable as possible?
Composting is a great way to do this.
Composting is the biological decomposition of organic waste such as food or plant material by bacteria, fungi, worms and other organisms under controlled aerobic conditions. The end result of composting is an accumulation of partially decayed organic matter.
Compost improves soil structure and provides some (but not all) nutrients to your plants, which helps to produce homegrown vegetables without chemical fertilizers. It helps improve water and nutrient retention, increases aeration, boosts populations of beneficial soil organisms, and loosens compacted soil.
If you do not have a large garden, you can use your compost as a mulch to prevent weeds or as potting soil for outdoor plants.
Also, composting significantly reduces the amount of waste that goes to landfills.
What can you compost?
Anything that started as a plant – and some that started as animals – can be composted. This included vegetable scraps, grass clippings, leaves, tea bags, paper, coffee grounds and filters, cotton and wool rags, vacuum and dryer lint, cardboard, and fireplace ashes. You can also compost eggshells, human hair, and pet hair.
Meat and dairy products can also be composted, but you’ll want to get an airtight compost bin so that the odors caused by the decomposing animal products don’t attract pests or bother neighbors.
