Six Months Later, Ellington Homicide Investigation Remains an 'Investigation'
State police say detectives are working hard on the case.

ELLINGTON, CT - State police have probably been asked the same question at least once a week over the past six months about the Dec. 23 death of Connie Dabate.
"Anything new in the Ellington murder case?"
And the answer has been a consistent, "the case is an active investigation," with a promise that detectives are working diligently to figure out just what happened that night on Birchview Drive, when the 39-year-old mom of two was found shot in the head and abdominal area.

Five days later, state police announced it was being considered a homicide.

On Wednesday, Tolland County's top prosecutor, Matthew Gedansky, echoed the state police comments by telling the Hartford Courant, "It's still an active investigation" while offering no further comment.
Meanwhile discussion about the case continues to drag on through town circles and in the court of social media, especially the Ellington-Somers Patch Facebook page. Online commentators have offered up suspects and even convictions, though no arrest has been made.
The Courant made the rounds this week at places in Ellington like a hair studio, a popular eatery and municipal offices.
