Somers Police Supervisor Fired for 'Sexual Misconduct'

A termination letter was recently released on the Somers police supervisor.

SOMERS, CT — The town's police supervisor and former state trooper was fired a week ago for sexual misconduct while on the job, a termination letter outlines.

The letter was released by First Selectman Clyde G. "Bud" Knorr Jr. this week.

Lt. Jose Claudio assumed his position after retiring from the state police, but was officially let go by the letter from Knorr.

The sex acts took place in his cruiser and office, the letter indicates.

According the letter, those acts included sniffing lingerie in the cruiser and recording himself performing a personal sex act in his office.

The letter indicates was in uniform during the video.

In April, Claudio, 47, was charged with with second-degree unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct, police said.

According to an arrest report, Claudio's live-in girlfriend filed a complaint at the Enfield Police Department on March 5, alleging an argument with Claudio had escalated into violence. She claimed he pushed her out of a bedroom into the kitchen, during which she sustained injuries to her elbows and back, police said.

He had been suspended but then reinstated in June, but then an state police internal affairs report cited the misconduct, a police source said.
