2 Enfield Men Arrested Following Sword-Swinging Incident

One man was struck with a sword, and the other with a leaf blower, police said.

ENFIELD, CT — A pair of Enfield men face charges after a verbal dispute Sunday afternoon escalated into violence in which both men were struck with unusual weapons.

Around 4 p.m., police were called to 68 Elm Street to a reported fight between two tenants of that address which began as an argument over the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers, Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said.

One of the tenants, John Casiello, 50, told police the other tenant, Ty Kohler, 54, had punched him in the left eye. In response, Casiello went to the garage and pulled a replica sword off the wall. He said when he returned to confront Kohler, he was struck in the left arm by an electric leaf blower Kohler was wielding, Sferrazza said.
