American tennis champion Althea Gibson said, “No matter what accomplishments you make, somebody helps you.” The Enfield Senior Center is grateful for the outpouring of support for the Annual Appeal. Our contributions have totaled over $7,000 so far. Please consider a contribution of $10 per person so that we can make needed improvements and upgrades. We appreciate your help.
Do you remember the New Christy Minstrels? William Florian, the former lead singer of the group is bringing his upbeat, energetic performance to Enfield. Join William for a journey through America’s greatest folk, rock, and pop music, including the songs of Peter, Paul and Mary, Pete Seeger, Mamas and the Papas and John Denver. A Senior Center participant suggested that we have a seminar on what to do when a medical emergency happens in the home. His neighbor had fallen out of a tree and called him for help. Gary Wiemokly, Director of Emergency Medical Services for the Town of Enfield, will talk about when to call 9-1-1, what to do until emergency responders arrive, and what will happen once emergency responders are on scene. Join us on Wednesday, May 30, at 1 p.m. for Home Medical Emergencies.
Movie and Hot Dog Night is on Thursday, May 24. The movie is Dolphin’s Tale and the hot dogs will be grilled by our famous Senior Center volunteer short order cooks. Tickets are on sale for $5 per person. Dinner is at 5 p.m. and the movie starts at 6 p.m.
