Enfield Election Results 2019: Republicans Sweep District Seats
Enfield residents went to the polls Tuesday to vote for candidates for town council, Board of Education and constables.

ENFIELD, CT — The votes have been counted, and the Republican party not only maintained majority on both the town council and Board of Education, but increased its domination of the council to a whopping 8-3 margin.
In district races for town council, incumbent District 1 Republican Joe Bosco defeated challenger Michael Ballard by a 1,145-740 margin. In District 2, Republican challenger Kelly Hemmeler edged Democratic incumbent Bob Cressotti, 569 votes to 542. Republicans Donna Szewczak and Charlotte Riley ran unopposed in Districts 3 and 4, respectively.
Seven candidates were elected to at-large seats, with Republicans claiming the maximum of four from any one party. Incumbents reelected were Republicans Carl Sferrazza, Joe Muller, Lori Unghire and Michael Ludwick, as well as Democrats Bill Kiner and Gina Cekala. Former longtime Democratic councilor Cindy Mangini was also elected, while Democrat Jacob Nadeau, unaffiliated candidate John Santanella and Voices for Enfield candidate Colleen Ann Reidy came up short.

Incumbent Republicans Walter Kruzel and Chris Rutledge, and Democrats Tina LeBlanc, Scott Ryder and Tim Neville were reelected to seats on the school board. Republicans Wendy Costa, Bill Salazar and Jonathan LeBlanc were also elected, with the latter being top votegetter among board candidates, while longtime Democratic board member Joyce Hall won election after a hiatus of several years. Democrat Steve Niemitz; and Voices for Enfield party members Liz Davis, Monica Wright and Marcy Taliceo did not win election.
