Enfield Nursing Home Among 3 Fined for Violations

The facility was one of three statewide which were recently fined by the state Department of Public Health.

ENFIELD, CT — An Enfield nursing home was among three Connecticut facilities recently fined by the state Department of Public Health for incidents relating to patient care, the Connecticut Health I-Team (C-HIT) reported.

Parkway Pavilion Health & Rehabilitation Center was fined $1,530 for an incident in which a nurse’s aide tried repositioning a patient in her bed without assistance, despite an order requiring two people be involved with any such moves. The attempt resulted in the resident’s vaginal area being touched, and the aide was subsequently fired, C-HIT said.

Apple Rehab Farmington Valley in Plainville and Madison House in Madison were fined $2,140 and $2,310, respectively, for incidents which occurred in 2016 and Feb. 2017, including one in which a patient eventually died, according to C-HIT.
