Enfield Obituary: Agnes Sheehan, 91

Condolences to her family and friends.

Agnes (Becker) Sheehan, 91, of Enfield, widow of John J. Sheehan (2007), entered into eternal rest to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 5, 2016.

Born in Hartford, Agnes was the daughter of the late Henry and Nellie (O'Connor) Becker. She was raised in the Bronx, NY and had lived in Enfield for the past 56 years. She was formerly employed at Pratt & Whitney where she met her husband and later was employed by ExCello in East Windsor. She was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Church. Agnes enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. Her famous and delicious apple crumb coffee cake will be missed by all who were privileged to taste it.

She is survived by her children, Mary A. LaPointe and her husband Walter of Enfield, Kathleen A. Hindle and her husband Charles of Norwich, John P. Sheehan of Windsor, Thomas H. Sheehan and his wife Deborah of Enfield; and Carolyn A. Simmons and her husband Roger of Hebron; a son-in-law, Peter Chouinard of Southbridge, MA; ten grandchildren, Walter LaPointe II, Rebecca Surprenant, Luke Hindle, Lydia Hindle, Sara (Chouinard) Wimmel, Peter Chouinard, Mary (Chouinard) Pettinato, Matthew Carr, Zachary Sheehan and Amanda Simmons; and three great granddaughters, Kayla and Keira Surprenant, and Cloey Carr. Besides her husband, Agnes was predeceased by her daughter, Jacqueline A. Chouinard, three brothers, and one sister.

Visitation hours will be held Friday, April 8, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. Family and friends will gather at 9:00 a.m. Saturday April 9, 2016 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels for a procession to Holy Family Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal will follow in St. Patrick King Street Cemetery.
