Enfield Police Interact With Youths at Back to School Party

Chief: "It was a wonderful way to build trust and confidence."

The Enfield Police Department and town’s Recreation Department hosted a back to school party for Enfield’s youth last Thursday at the Angelo Lamagna Activity Center.

The purpose of the party was to bring the youth and police together in a positive and fun atmosphere, Officer Mickey Emons said.

Approximately 250 attendees participated in activities such as trivia, pool contests, a dance contest, an inflatable slip and slide as well as The Convincer crash simulator. Cotton candy and popcorn were enjoyed by all, and 70 shirts were handed out to attendees.

“This idea originated from the rank and file,” Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said. “They all got behind it and donated their own time. It was a wonderful way to build trust and confidence. I’m very proud of the success of this program.”
