Enfield Woman Contradicts Herself, Wins $10,000 Prize

Did you know that there are more than 200 top prize winning tickets in the CT Lottery’s “10X Cash 10th Edition” instant game, each worth $10,000? Valerie Norris of Enfield did not. In retrospect, when Norris’ husband, Bill, asked her that very question her response was rather ironic. “I said to him, ‘Yea, right. Like we’ll ever win $10,000,’” Norris told Lottery officials with a laugh. “[Bill] said, ‘Honey, you never know.’ And then, the very next ticket, I win the top prize. Go figure!”

CT Lottery’s 10X Cash instant game is very popular among players due to the fun and excitement of revealing an “X” prize multiplier symbol, and the large number of prizes available in each game edition. Norris said that 10X Cash is her favorite game to play due to the game’s favorable odds, and her good luck at winning sizeable prizes.

“Whenever I got down to scratching the last three rows on the 10X ticket, I thought, ‘Oh my God. I can’t be reading this right.’ I had a 5X, a 2X, and a winning number match. When we added up all three prizes it came out to $10,000,” said Norris. “I’m putting it right in the bank.”

Norris purchased her top prize winning ticket at Enfield Food Mart at 935 Enfield Street in Enfield who will receive a $100 check from the CT Lottery for selling the ticket.

There are 225 top prizes worth $10,000 each in the $10 instant game 10X Cash 10th Edition, with 128 top prizes that remain to be claimed. The overall odds of winning a prize in 10X Cash are 1 in 3.95.
