Enfield Youth Council Coordinates TIPS Training for Area Restaurants
Twenty servers from local restaurants received the five-hour training program.

The Enfield Youth Council recognized alcohol awareness month by bringing Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) to their community.
Twenty servers from Danny’s Pizza, Country Diner and Plaza Azteca participated in the five-hour training held at the Country Diner. The training provided by East of the River Action for Substance Abuse Elimination (ERASE) is a skills-based training program designed to prevent intoxication, drunk driving and underage drinking by enhancing the fundamental “people skills” of servers, sellers and consumers of alcohol. TIPS give individuals the knowledge to recognize potential alcohol-related problems and how to intervene to prevent alcohol-related tragedies.
The Enfield Youth Council partners with the Enfield Together Coalition to look for ways to reduce the use of alcohol and other drugs by Enfield youth. The Youth Council members were pleased to combine their efforts with local restaurants to help reduce the accessibility of alcohol to minors.
