A Night of Improv-Making It Up As We Go Along

The Valley Repertory Company is pleased to announce a brand new performance to continue it’s 26th season. On June 1st and 2nd, we proudly present A Night of Improv-Making It Up As We Go Along.

Director and emcee BeckyBeth Benedict promises this will be an evening of fast-thinking entertainment created on the spot. In the fashion of television’s “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” this team of actors will delight audiences with their antics in short-form improvisational games.

A team of eight actors, some returning VRC members and some new to our stage have been honing their already stellar comedic talents to bring you a refreshing show that will keep you laughing all night. Audience participation will be encouraged throughout the show.

Making up our troupe we have returning VRC members Jen Rawlings who was last seen in the spring 2011 VRC production of Romeo and Juliet, Summer Echelson from the Fall 2011 production of The Golden State, Tara Kennedy from the 2012 LabWorks 15 Minute Play contest and Josh Guenter who most recently directed three of the plays from the 2012 Labworks 15 Minute Play contest and has appeared several times on the VRC stage. We are also excited to welcome the brilliant minds of Bianca Slota, Michael Shelby, Carla Majuntke and Abby Nash.

Shelby, who is a current Improv performer with another troupe, is “looking to sharpen his skills and learn from a very experienced and good director.” While Slota is quoted as saying “I know it sounds clichéd but I am genuinely in awe of the comedic talents of my cast mates. They keep me laughing non-stop through rehearsals. I can't wait for audiences to share in the experience.” Director BeckyBeth is delighted to be working with such a “quirky bunch of talented individuals”.
