
On Monday, March 7th Asnuntuck Community College will hold a candlelight vigil for peace and the safe return of United States' troops, followed by an evening of poetry and music celebrating peace. The candlelight vigil will be held from 6:30 p.m.-7 p.m. outside the front entrance of the college.
At 7 p.m. the "In Hope of Peace" reading will begin in the Coffee House in Cafe 2, with guitar music by Asnuntuck graduate Tray Vasseur and singing by Asnuntuck student Katie Bianchi. The music portion of the event will be followed by Asnuntuck students, faculty and staff reading their own poems and poems by others, all with a focus on peace.
The formal reading will conclude with poetry readings by Asnuntuck graduate Sherylle Roberson Hutchings's Youth Group-Cafe Sisterhood/Book Club 4 Girls.

Following a break there will be open mic until 9 p.m. so that others may share their poems and music about peace, as part of a collective healing and hope for a peaceful world.
The event is free, open to the public and refreshments will be served.
