Ex-Enfield State Rep Arrested Again For Assault
The former legislator was arrested for the fourth time in three years on Saturday.

ENFIELD, CT — Embattled former state representative David Alexander, who last month announced a plan to seek a state Senate seat, was arrested Saturday morning and charged with second-degree assault on an elderly victim and disorderly conduct.
David Alexander, 36, was taken into custody following a domestic violence incident involving a family member, whom police did not identify, Sgt. Doug Montas said.
He was released after posting $10,000 surety bond, and is scheduled to appear in Enfield Superior Court Monday, Montas said.

Last month, Alexander announced he would seek the 7th Senatorial District seat held for more than two decades by John Kissel.
Two days following the Nov. 2016 election, during which Alexander lost his 58th District General Assembly seat, he was charged with third-degree assault on a person over 60 and second-degree breach of peace, in connection with an incident in which he allegedly punched his father in the face while intoxicated.

Alexander was charged with operating under the influence twice during his General Assembly tenure, first in early 2015 in Windsor Locks, then on July 16, 2016 in West Hartford. In the latter case, he pleaded guilty and received a six-month suspended sentence, plus 18 months probation, according to judicial records.
