“Farming for Your Future”

Northern Connecticut Agricultural Summit, "Farming for Your Future" Saturday, February 29 at Asnuntuck Community College

The Northern Connecticut Agriculture Summit, “Farming for Your Future” will be held on Saturday, February 29 from 8:30 to 1:00 p.m. at Asnuntuck Community College, 170 Elm Street, Enfield.

The Agricultural Summit, “Farming for Your Future” is geared toward current and prospective farmers to raise awareness and provide educational seminars to those interested in farming. Keynote speaker for the event is Joan Nichols, Executive Director of the CT Farm Bureau.

During the Summit, attendees will hear from expert speakers at seminars throughout the morning to include Managing Healthy Soil, Social Media 101, Beekeeping, Navigating through State Grants, Backyard Chickens 101, Impact of Climate Change, Pollinators, Hydroponics, as well as consecutive sessions on How to Grow Hemp; the permitting process, update on 2019 Crop and panel discussion.

The agricultural summit is free of charge and will include a continental breakfast, seminars and informational exhibitors. Sponsors of the event are Farm Credit East, ShopRite of Enfield, Asnuntuck Community College, The Town of Enfield, UCONN Extension and Department of Agriculture.
