ENFIELD, CT — A Windsor man involved in a serious crash in Enfield in February has had a felony assault charge added to his case, following consultation with the state's attorney's office.

Daniel Yohe, 39, was charged on a warrant with second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, a felony. He had originally been charged with operating under the influence and failure to drive in proper lane; those charges are still pending, according to judicial records.

On Feb. 25 around 10:25 p.m., Yohe was involved in a serious crash at Elm, Enfield and North Main streets in which his westbound vehicle crossed a median and collided with another vehicle heading eastbound, police said.

The female driver of the second vehicle was pinned to the steering wheel, and had to be extricated from her vehicle. She was transported with serious injuries to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, police said.

According to a police report, Yohe had "a strong odor of alcohol" and his speech was slurred. He admitted to police he had been drinking, and subsequently failed a field sobriety test.
