Finance Director Appointed in Enfield

The finance director position was vacated in Sept. 2015 with the resignation of Lynn Nenni.

ENFIELD, CT - Nearly 10 months after the departure of finance director Lynn Nenni, the town of Enfield has announced her permanent replacement.

John Wilcox, who has served as acting finance director since Nenni's resignation in September, has been hired as finance director at a salary of $115,000, director of human resources Steve Bielenda said.

Wilcox, who started his new official duties on July 1, began working for the town more than five and a half years ago. He had previously served as the assistant finance director for the town of Simsbury for six years, and as an account manager for the Eastern Connecticut Health Network.

In an email to town staff and officials, Bielenda wrote of Wilcox, "Most recently, after the departure of Enfield’s former finance director, John stepped up to the plate and worked closely with the acting town manager to develop the current town budget and provide a seamless transition. John assumed all the responsibilities, including numerous night meetings with the Town Council and department directors, to ensure a smooth budget transition for the new coming town manager. John has not only proven that he is capable but that he is also approachable in resolving any financial issue or concern that may come across his desk."

Wilcox is a certified public accountant who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Alfred University in Alfred, New York.
