Firefighters Battle House Fire in Enfield

The fire was reported around 8 p.m. in the Green Manorville section on the east side of town.

ENFIELD, CT - Firefighters responded to a house fire in the Green Manorville section of Enfield Monday evening.

The blaze at 7 Perry Lane was reported shortly after 8 p.m., and apparently started in a second-floor bedroom, according to Mark Zarcaro, public information officer for the Enfield fire departments.

The blaze burned through the wall on the south side of the house. "That room is pretty much destroyed," Zarcaro said.

By 9:05 p.m., the fire was out, and all occupants were reported safe, including pets, Zarcaro said.

No injuries were sustained, Zarcaro said.

Enfield land records show the homeowner as James R. Mason.

Hazardville Fire Chief Jack Flanagan, who also acts as the fire marshal for the district, is in command of the investigation.
