Good Luck Smiles on Enfield Man in Lottery Game

Some people have all the luck, which is why Richard Misseri of Enfield was not surprised when he won a prize playing Lucky Links with 2XPOWER for the Feb. 28 night drawing, according to a written release from the Connecticut Lottery.

“I’m the lucky one in the family - I win everything,” Misseri told Lottery officials with a laugh.

What Misseri wasn’t expecting to win was the game’s top prize.

“I gave the ticket to the retailer to check and he told me he couldn’t pay it. I thought maybe it was for a couple thousand, but it was $50,000,” he said.

On Feb. 28, the “Quick Pick” numbers on Misseri’s “play grid” were a perfect match to the winning Lucky Links Night numbers drawn 1 - 2 - 4 - 12 - 14 - 19 - 20 - 22. As a result, 8 winning lines were created on Misseri’s ticket for the game’s $50,000 top prize.

Since Lucky Links began April 2015, the game’s $50,000 top prize has been won a total of 12 times.

“I really want to win Powerball someday so I can retire, help my family and golf every day. This (Lucky Links prize) will be used for a new driveway, windows and siding,” Misseri said.

Misseri’s top prize winning Lucky Links ticket was purchased at Elm Street Package Store at 584 Elm Street in Windsor Locks. Elm Street Package Store will receive a $500 bonus check from the Connecticut Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

The overall odds of winning a Lucky Links prize are 1 in 8.4. The odds of winning the Lucky Links top prize is 1 in 319,770.
