Homeless Man Accused in Enfield Stabbing Case
Police say the man stabbed his friend during an argument Saturday.

ENFIELD, CT — Police arrested a homeless man Saturday night after another man reported he had been stabbed during an argument.
Gerald McTyre, 59, is charged with second-degree assault with a weapon, carrying a dangerous weapon and second-degree beach of peace. He was held over the weekend in lieu of $25,000 bond, and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Enfield Superior Court.
Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said an officer was flagged down by a man around 8:45 p.m., who claimed he had been in a fight earlier with a man who stabbed him in the stomach. The victim said he and McTyre had been drinking near the Connecticut River when a fight ensued, during which McTyre allegedly pulled out a flip-open box cutter and slashed the victim in the stomach.
