No Decision Made by Enfield Town Council on ECDC Loan Request
Numerous residents spoke about the loan proposal at Tuesday night's council meeting.
A $200,000 loan request from the troubled Enfield Community Development Corporation was thoroughly discussed by the public at Tuesday night’s Enfield Town Council meeting.
The majority of residents who spoke during the public communication portion of the meeting were opposed to the council granting the request, though two spoke highly of the organization.
The ECDC terminated its only two employees in the fall amid reports of fiscal mismanagement. Members of the organization’s board proposed the secured loan from the council, in part to compensate unpaid vendors.
