Outdoor Pro Wrestling Show Scheduled in Enfield

The current TNA World Heavyweight Champion will be among those performing at Mount Carmel.

Some high-flying, exciting, affordable family-fun entertainment will soon be making its way to the Mount Carmel Society grounds in Enfield, as a new independent professional wrestling promotion presents its debut show.

Us vs. Them (UvT) has scheduled an outdoor card, to be held under the evening skies on Saturday, Aug. 29. The show will feature some of the finest young pro wrestling talent in the Northeast, plus a few well-known guest stars.

Headlining the card is Ethan Carter III (EC3), the current TNA World Heavyweight Champion, who defeated 12-time world champion Kurt Angle during the Impact Wrestling television tapings on June 25, 2015. His resume includes victories over the legendary Sting, Mr. Anderson, Bobby Lashley and Bully Ray (aka Bubba Ray Dudley).

Carter will face CJP, who was formerly signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and competed under the name CJ Parker. In FCW and NXT, he took on big-name stars like Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, The Great Khali, Kevin Owens, The Miz and Antonio Cesaro.

CJP has announced via Twitter that the Enfield show will be his last match.

Former WWE superstar and broadcaster Matt Striker will also be on hand, teaming with local favorite Shane Marvel in a tag match against the Jurassic Era.

There will be no shortage of regional talent at the show, with many area favorites set for action. Among them are A.J. Cruise, Lukas Sharp, TJ Marconi, “The Carnivore” Alex Mason, Damien Black, 5*Jase, “Cashflow” Ken Broadway, “Masshole” Mike McCarthy, Enfield’s own Marshall McNeil and “The Dirt Dawg” Jeremy Leary.

Leary, who has competed in numerous independent promotions over the past few years, founded UvT this summer.

“I probably started thinking about becoming a pro wrestler the first time I saw it. I was hooked, and every time they asked in grade school what you wanted to be when you grew up, my answer was always a professional wrestler,” Leary said. “Starting UvT up has been something I’ve contemplated for at least a year and a half now. I guess I just needed that extra little push, because working 50+ hours a week on top of training, doing other company’s shows, and maintaining a personal and social life, I rarely have time to myself.”

Seeking a suitable venue for the company’s premier show, Leary was put in touch with leaders of the Mount Carmel Society, who allowed UvT to present some exhibition matches during their 90th Italian Festival the first weekend of August.

“When the opportunity to run in Enfield and work with the people at Mount Carmel fell into my lap, it was the push that I needed,” Leary said.

Members of the Mount Carmel Society will be offering their famous food throughout the event.

The promoter said the wide variety of talent promises to deliver a fun night of entertainment.

“I think balance will set us apart,” Leary said. “We’re going to have something for every type of wrestling fan. We have high-flying matches. We have some hard-hitting matches. It will be a great night for the whole family.”

Tickets are $25 for ringside seats, $20 for second and third row and $15 for general admission. Fans who purchase four general admission tickets will receive a fifth free.

Bell time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
