The ceremony, marking over 110 years since the memorial's original dedication, will celebrate a recent preservation project at its Enfield Street location and is part of the community's broader observance of America's 250th anniversary.

• Three Arrested In Enfield (patch.com) — Enfield police used a fake online dirt bike listing to lure suspected thieves to a local storage facility, leading to three arrests and multiple burglary-related charges. The pre-dawn sting, dubbed Operation Whiskey Throttle, targeted a string of dirt bike and ATV thefts and relied on help from several Enfield-area businesses that provided space and equipment.

• Connecticut inspector suspended after interactions tied to funeral home owner accused of $1M theft (nhregister.com) — An Enfield man who once owned several area funeral homes is accused of stealing over $1 million in prepaid funeral funds from more than 170 customers, and is expected to plead guilty later this month. A state health inspector who previously worked for him was separately suspended for misconduct related to interactions at one of the homes, though officials say he wasn't involved in the alleged thefts.
