2. Nature Camp at Northwest Park
Where: Windsor
About: Week-long nature programs for campers that concentrate on science, farm, and nature learning while enjoying the outdoors. There will be hands-on experiences, activities, games, crafts, hikes, observations, projects, stories, experiments, and Outdoor Living Skills activities. You may register your child for multiple weeks of camp. 3. Camp Aya-Po
Where: Somers
About: Summer day camp for kids in 1st-10th grade. Many activities such as archery, arts and crafts, boating, fishing, hiking and environmental education are offered. Campers are grouped by age, and each group is assigned a counselor that encourages teamwork and friendship. Where: Longmeadow, MA
About: USSI Multi Sports camps give children the opportunity to experience over 15 different sports from around the world, group building games and fun activities. Campers receive technical instruction in each sport and then experience a realistic game situation. After lunch, all campers participate in the USSI Olympic Games and World Cup. Monday, Aug. 15-Friday, Aug. 19 (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) - Ages 7-14
5. Excursions in Learning for Children
Where: Manchester Community College
About: A two-week, full day program for gifted and high-achieving students. Some activities include junior culinary camp (grades 5-8), technology camp (grades 6-8) and adventures in leadership (grades 5-7).
