Woman Rescued From Connecticut River In Enfield

A person was seen floating in the river by fishermen Friday morning, according to police.

ENFIELD, CT — A combination of emergency personnel and citizens helped save a woman who was found floating in the Connecticut River Friday morning.

Around 6:45 a.m., fishermen on the river saw a woman floating and called 911. Responding firefighters, EMTs and police officers located the woman, and a fisherman was able to bring her to safety in their boat, police said.

Firefighters were able to bring the woman to land, and she was transported to a nearby medical facility, Lt. Keith Parent said.

The woman is an Enfield resident, but no further information was released. The Suffield Police Department is conducting an investigation, Parent said.
