A 'Sparkle-On-Walk-A-Thon' in Honor of Popular Enfield Teacher
Students, parents, faculty raise funds for American Cancer Society in memory of teacher Nancy Simmons.
Students, parents and faculty from Little Angels Catholic Pre-School and St. Bernard School walked 4 miles on Saturday, May 9 in the “Sparkle-On-Walk-A-Thon”, in honor of teacher Nancy Simmons.
As the group walked down Hazard Avenue, the Hazardville Fire Department had their large fire trucks out front with the lights flashing as the walkers passed by the station.
Simmons was a staff member for several years at the pre-school, and passed away from lymphoma last fall.
