Even though the show is not until February 17, the tickets to Linwood Peel’s Tribute to the Drifters are going like crazy. Linwood Peel and his band bring back the music that made the Drifters famous. Listen and dance to “Under the Boardwalk,” “Save the Last Dance for Me,” “This Magic Moment,” and “Up on the Roof.” Tickets are on sale in the Senior Center office for $7 per person.

Every second Thursday of the month, we offer a Salon. A Salon was a gathering of people, in 17th and 18th century France, who discussed ideas. The Salon at the Enfield Senior Center has a new presentation every month by a volunteer on a topic they choose. On Thursday, January 12, at 1 p.m. the discussion is about “IBM: Corporate Culture”. Join the audience, participate in the discussion, or volunteer to coordinate a discussion. If you have traveled and would like to share your experience or if you have an expertise in or would like to research a certain topic, call or e-mail me to be a presenter.
The AARP Tax-Aide program will begin on February 1. Appointments are now being taken in the Senior Center office for Mondays and Wednesdays until April 11. Trained volunteers help to complete Federal and State income tax returns at no charge for those who are 60 years and older. Schedule an appointment and then bring last year’s Federal and State tax returns, all original documents for taxes, W-2s, 1099s and Town property bills for your house and/or car, and Social Security statements.

Some of the best recipes can be found in local cookbooks.
The Enfield Senior Center classes are not held when the Enfield Public Schools are closed due to snow. If there is a weather delay, however, our programs go on as usual. Information about closings can be found on WFSB and you may also wish to call the Senior Center to verify closings.
We are tidying up our newsletter mailing list. If you, or someone you know, does not want to receive the Enfield Senior Center newsletter, Front & Center, please let us know.
