As Winter Practices Open, A Look At Enfield's Team Title History
Enfield scholastic teams have won nine state championships in the current winter sports, including three by defunct Fermi.

ENFIELD, CT — The winter sports campaign is officially upon us as practice is scheduled to open Monday for high school wrestling, girls basketball and ice hockey teams throughout Connecticut. Indoor track, boys basketball, boys swimming and gymnastics all begin practice Thursday.
With players slated to take the court, ice and mat later this afternoon, dreams of a state championship berth in March are already formulating in the minds of athletes and coaches alike. The onset of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020 brought a halt to state championship competition, and no state tournaments were conducted last winter.
Here is the state title history in winter sports for Enfield High School teams, as well as now-closed Fermi High School.
